Multiple ‘Caution’ Signs Hang On Kennel Door — Man Finds The Sweetest Pit Bull Inside

A 19-year-old named Gemar Lezeau started a summer job at the ASPCA and was looking forward to working with the animals. What he didn’t expect was to fall in love with a very misunderstood Pit Bull named Juice.

Juice was found by rescuers tied to a pole at a construction site, he was shivering, cold, and alone — it was Christmas Eve. The NYPD brought the poor dog to the ASPCA in terrible shape. The poor dog was malnourished, had skin and ear infections, and covered in bite marks.

After a month, the dog began to heal and they were ready to move him from the recovery center to the adoption center. Their plans, however, didn’t go as well as they had hoped.

“He was anxious and extremely vocal when potential adopters would walk by his enclosure,” the ASPCA wrote on its adoption blog. “As you can imagine, this proved to be a deterrent for many, especially given Juice’s appearance and breed. It’s no secret that pit bulls have a difficult time being adopted due to prejudice against their breed.”

Lezeau ended up meeting Juice on his first day at the ASPCA while he was on a tour of the facilities. “His kennel door had a bunch of caution signs on it and that intrigued me to know more about him,” Lezeau told a fellow website. “From that point on I had taken a special interest into him.”
